Skin Bank

The skin bank has been carefully prepared for the processing and storage of skin samples that are used in the wounds of burn victims of all degrees and could also be responsible for skin transplantation activities and scientific research related to skin samples.

 

Field of Services:-

 

The skin bank provides a system for preparation and storing skin samples, which are used in burn skin recovery surgeries “grafts” عمليات الترقيع, whether, for recent burns or post-burn deformities from the same patient or from donors, It also provides a system for transplanting small skin samples and to reach larger areas of the burned injury sites. 

 

Those services are of great importance in cases of burns above 50% and the skin bank can be also a source for distributing skin samples to other foundations, centers, or hospitals.

 

The skin bank ensures that there are no microbes in the skin samples and tightens and extends them to three or four times their size to cover larger areas of burning and preserve them in either glycerol or other preservation methods.

Preserving skin samples requires extreme degrees of cooling, and requires special equipment for cooling, and here comes the importance of skin preservation refrigerators.
