Laser-based flow cytometry is used to detect and measure the physical and chemical properties of a group of cells or particles. It uses a laser as a light source to produce optical signals and performs high-dimensional quantitative measurements of light scattering and emission properties of hundreds of thousands of individual cells in each sample.
